  • Legally required disclosures: We may release personal information if we believe in good faith that it is required by law or legal process or by a law enforcement agency that has provided a valid request, it is required to protect or enforce our legal rights, or such release is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of others. In the event that Humm is acquired by another company, the acquirer would have access to the information maintained by us, which could include personal information. Similarly, personal information may be transferred as part of a corporate reorganization, insolvency proceeding, or other similar event, if permitted by and done in accordance with applicable law.
  • Notice to California Residents: If you are a California resident, you may have the right to request and receive certain information about our disclosure of your personal information to third parties for their own marketing use. Also, to protect your personal information you should take all appropriate steps to safeguard your passwords, account information and any credit card or other financial information you may provide in connection with our website or the websites of others. If you use a shared or public computer, never choose to have your login ID/email address or password remembered and make sure to log out of your account every time you leave the computer.
  1. As described elsewhere in this Privacy Policy, we (and our service providers and business partners) may use certain technologies to collect and obtain non-personal information about you that we use in various ways. This includes the following technologies:
  • Cookies: Cookies are files stored on your computer’s hard drive by the browser. These cookies help us to (i) identify and authenticate visitors and subscribers, (ii) store preferences, (iii) tailor content and advertisements on the Humm website according to visitor preferences, (iv) preserve session settings and state, (v) automatically fill in forms and sign-in screens, and (vi) analyze the performance and effectiveness of our website and our communications with you. The cookie does not contain any personal information but it does identify the specific installed program you use to browse the Humm website.
  • Web beacons: Web beacons are small strings of code that provide a method of delivering a graphic image on a web page or in an email message for the purpose of transferring data back to us. The information collected via web beacons may include your Internet Protocol (IP) address, as well as information about how you respond to an email campaign (for example, the time the email is opened, where does the user link to from the email, etc.).

Your browser gives you the ability to delete or reject browser cookies. If you block cookies, certain features on our website may not work. Also, some browsers have a “Do Not Track” feature that lets you tell websites that you do not want to have your online activities tracked. These features are not yet uniform, so note that our systems may not recognize Do Not Track headers or signals from some or all browsers. If you block or delete cookies, not all of the tracking that we have described in this Privacy Policy will stop.

  1. We use tracking tools (including those described above) to serve you with advertising that is based on your actual browsing activities and on-line behavior. This is known as “interest-based advertising” or “online behavioral advertising”. We might permit third parties to gather information passively on our website for behavioral advertising purposes. We also partner with third party ad networks and advertising technology companies to either display advertising on our website or to manage our advertising on other sites. Our ad network partners use cookies and web beacons to collect non-personally identifiable information about your activities on this and other websites to provide you targeted advertising based upon your interests. We and many of our ad network partners participate in the Digital Advertising Alliance, Self-Regulatory Program for Online Behavioral Advertising. This program offers a single location where users can make choices about the use of their information for ad targeting. To learn more, please click here. Please note these methods do not opt you out of being served advertising. You will continue to receive generic ads.
  1. We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children below the age of 13 for marketing purposes. If we discover that we’ve accidentally collected information from a child below 13, we will remove that child’s information from our records as soon as feasibly possible. However, we may collect personal information about children below the age of 13 for marketing purposes from the parent or legal guardian directly. For non-marketing (e.g., educational) purposes, we may only collect personal information from a child below the age of 13 with the explicit prior written consent of the child’s parent or legal guardian.
  1. Please send your corrections or updates by sending an email to info@humm.com. Participants may also choose to opt out in the event Humm indicates that their personal information will be disclosed to a third party or used for a purpose incompatible with the purpose for which it was originally collected, or not subsequently authorized by those participants.

HUMM OPT-OUT POLICY

The default assumption is that you have “opted-in” and consented to use of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy. If you no longer wish to receive information from Humm, you may request that Humm cease further contact at any time by sending an email request marked “Privacy-Urgent” to hello@humm.com. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to delete such information from our internal databases. However, while we are processing your request, you may continue to receive communications from us and you will continue to receive Interest-Based Advertising on our websites and other websites until you specifically opt out of such advertising as described above.
