Kombucha Popsicles for the Fourth are fun for everyone!

The Fourth of July calls for a tri-colored treat, like these red white and blue popsicles! Have some at the ready to cool you down and get you fired up for the Fourth!

Some people like to mix a little somethin’ into their drinks – why not add some sparkle to your dessert, too?

Popsicles are a summer staple, and making them at home means you can add all kinds of wacky things to this frozen delight. Go ahead and blow your friends’ minds! But we don’t recommend adding any actual fireworks to your popsicles. 😉

Start a day or two before you plan to eat these, the trick to getting nice layers is to freeze each one as you go!

Kombucha Popsicles Recipe

For the layered popsicles

Makes 10

Strawberry Layer:

½ cup strawberries, finely chopped

1 bottle Strawberry Lemonade Humm Kombucha

2 tablespoons lemon or lime juice

Coconut layer:

½ cup full fat yogurt

3 tablespoons heavy cream

2 tablespoons lime juice

1 bottle Coconut Lime Humm Kombucha

Blueberry layer:

½ cup whole blueberries

1 bottle Blueberry Mint Humm Kombucha

2 tablespoons lemon or lime juice

Set aside the fruit and mix the liquids for each layer in a separate bowl or measuring cup. Add the strawberries to the bottom of each mold (so that they end up on the top of the popsicle), and then pour in the strawberry liquid. Freeze for 1 hour until solid. Remove from the freezer and add the coconut layer to each mold. Insert the stick and freeze for another hour. For the last layer, put the whole blueberries in each mold, fitting them around the popsicle stick. Pour in the blueberry liquid and freeze for at least one hour, or up to overnight.

Tip: if you are having any trouble removing the popsicles from the molds, run the mold under warm water for 10 seconds.

For the boozy popsicles

These can be made into ice pops (a fun throwback, now with an adult twist!) or frozen in a popsicle mold.

Boozy Kombucha Popsicles:

Strawberry:

½ cup strawberries, cut into small pieces

1 bottle Strawberry Lemonade Humm Kombucha

2 tablespoons lemon or lime juice

2 ounces vodka

Coconut:

½ cup full fat yogurt

3 tablespoons heavy cream

2 tablespoons lime juice

1 bottle Coconut Lime Humm Kombucha

2 ounces vodka or white rum

Blueberry:

½ cup whole blueberries

1 bottle Blueberry Mint Humm Kombucha

2 tablespoons lemon or lime juice

2 ounces vodka

For the blueberry and strawberry, blend each flavor with the fruit to make a puree, then fill the popsicle molds or some ice pop sleeves. For the coconut, whisk together in a bowl and freeze into your desired shape.

Whether you are having friends over to grill up some dawgs, or just hangin’ with the fam, have a safe and happy Fourth of July!
