Holiday Cozy Cocktails with Humm Kombucha

This holiday season we invite you to cozy up by the fire with a kombucha cocktail. Using Humm in your holiday drinks is a fast and easy way to get some complex flavors and an added shot of antioxidants to counteract all those treats we love so much this time of year (you’re not the only one eyeing that chocolate advent calendar).

We’ve got some cozy holiday cocktails featuring Humm Kombucha that will make you (and your guests) very merry.

Cranberry Citrus Kombucha Cocktail

This time of year we always seem to have a little extra cranberry sauce in our fridge. Let’s do something different, crazy perhaps! – drink it!

Cranberry sauce mixed with a little Humm Kombucha Pomegranate Lemonade, some gin and citrus juice makes a sweet tart probiotic drink that kicks this season of eating off to a sparkly start.

Cranberry Citrus Kombucha Cocktail
Makes 1 cocktail

Ingredients

  • 2.5 oz. gin
  • 2 tablespoons cranberry sauce or jelly
  • ¼ – ½ oz simple syrup, to taste
  • ½  oz each lemon and lime juice
  • ½  oz. orange juice,
  • 1 bottle Humm Pomegranate Lemonade Kombucha
  • lime slice for garnish

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients except kombucha and lime slice into a shaker with ice and shake until frosty (about 30 seconds). If using cranberry jelly (the kind in the can) shake until the cranberry jelly is well mixed in with the liquid.
  2. Strain into a glass filled with ice, and top off the drink with kombucha. Give it a stir and garnish with a lime slice. For mocktail version, omit gin and add extra kombucha, citrus juice or club soda depending on your taste and desired level of probiotics 🙂

KomBRRcha Cocktail

This cocktail will transport you to a warmer place if you are craving a holiday getaway to somewhere sunnier. All you need is a little coconut and some lime (oh, the tequila helps with the whole imaginary vacation thing too!)

Makes 2

Ingredients:

  • ½ a 14 oz can coconut milk
  • 1 bottle coconut lime humm kombucha
  • 3 oz. silver tequila
  • Juice of two limes
  • 2 cups ice
  • 1 lime, sliced into rounds for garnish
  • Lime wedge, for rimming glass
  • Sugar, for rimming glass
  • Cranberries, for garnish

Directions:

Combine coconut milk, tequila, lime juice and ice in a blender. Blend until smooth. Rim glasses with lime wedge and dip in sanding sugar. Pour the blended drink into glasses and garnish with lime and cranberries. Serve.

Less Hot Hot Toddy

Why “less hot”? Because by only heating up this hot toddy to 110 degrees, you are preserving all that probiotic goodness! And don’t worry, adding a little bourbon doesn’t hurt those microbial powerhouses one lil’ bit.

Makes 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle Lemon Ginger Humm Kombucha
  • 1 ounce bourbon or whiskey
  • Lemon slices, for garnish

Directions:

Gently heat the kombucha in a saucepan over medium heat until it feels warm to the touch (you can use the tip of your finger to test it) or use a thermometer to heat it until it reaches 110 degrees. Pour into a mug and add the bourbon. Garnish with a lemon slice and serve.

Pome-a-rosa Tinis for Everyone!

Pretty and smart, that’s what we like to call this cocktail – because you can mix it up ahead of time and serve it at your next holiday party or bring it along to wherever you’re getting your getting your cheer on.

Makes 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle (14 oz) Pomegranate Lemonade Humm Kombucha
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, roughly chopped, plus 4 long sprigs for garnishing
  • 4 oz gin, such as Crater Lake Gin
  • Ice

Directions:

In a cocktail shaker or glass jar, add a tablespoon of fresh rosemary, a splash of gin, and 2 tablespoons crushed ice. Muddle until the rosemary is well crushed (see photo below), strain the liquid well and set aside. Combine the Pomegranate Lemonade Humm Kombucha, apple juice, lime juice, 4 ounces of gin in a pitcher, add the rosemary liquid. Add the rosemary garnish to each glass. Add a few small ice cubes to each glass, pour the cocktail over ice and serve.
